About the Role

Our client is an infrastructure-backed alternative network (altnet) provider delivering business connectivity, wholesale and network services. Built on an owned fibre network, the business provides FTTP business broadband, dedicated internet access (DIA), Layer 2 Ethernet and wholesale connectivity with strong operational capability and commercially structured routes to market.

The business has completed its initial brand and communications foundation, with its strategic narrative, visual identity, core messaging, digital presence and key collateral already established. The focus now is on delivering a disciplined communications programme that builds market visibility, supports commercial growth and ensures consistent messaging across all external channels.

This is not a strategy-from-scratch or traditional media relations role. A retained PR agency manages day-to-day journalist engagement. Instead, you'll lead the internal execution of the communications programme, coordinating campaigns, managing agency delivery, supporting senior stakeholders and producing high-quality communications assets that strengthen market credibility and support commercial activity.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Growth Strategy, you'll take ownership of communications planning and execution, ensuring campaigns, thought leadership, spokesperson activity, events and collateral are delivered with pace, consistency and commercial impact.

Working closely with marketing, sales, technical and leadership teams, you'll help translate business propositions into compelling communications that support both broader market awareness and targeted commercial opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day delivery of the communications and events plan.
  • Manage the retained PR agency, ensuring campaigns, media opportunities and thought leadership remain aligned with agreed priorities.
  • Coordinate internal briefing, approvals and content workflows to support efficient campaign delivery.
  • Support spokesperson planning, media preparation and executive communications.
  • Develop thought leadership content, commentary, bylines and LinkedIn activity.
  • Produce audience-specific collateral including presentations, one-pagers, briefing packs, proof materials and partner communications.
  • Maintain and develop market-facing collateral, product information, company presentations and supporting communications assets.
  • Support event and sponsorship activity, ensuring collateral, messaging and follow-up are delivered effectively.
  • Ensure all external communications remain aligned with approved messaging, brand standards and commercial positioning.
  • Work closely with Sales, Product, Technical and Leadership teams to identify customer proof points, validate messaging and support commercial priorities.
  • Track communications activity and campaign performance, providing clear reporting and recommendations.
  • Partner with the Growth Marketing Manager to ensure communications content supports digital campaigns, website content and lead generation activity.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong practical experience in communications delivery, PR agency management and stakeholder engagement, ideally gained within telecoms, connectivity, technology, digital infrastructure or another complex B2B environment.

You'll be highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable managing multiple communications projects while working with senior stakeholders and external partners.

You'll bring experience in:

  • B2B communications delivery and PR agency management.
  • Managing communications plans, approvals and campaign execution.
  • Thought leadership, executive profiling and media commentary.
  • Developing compelling content across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Producing high-quality collateral that supports commercial conversations.
  • Coordinating internal stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Supporting events, sponsorships and customer-facing communications.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • An excellent writer with strong attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded and able to balance ambition with credibility.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders and agency partners.
  • Proactive, collaborative and delivery focused.
  • Calm under pressure and able to maintain quality across competing deadlines.

Ideal Background

Experience within telecoms, connectivity, digital infrastructure, wholesale, channel or specialist B2B services would be highly advantageous.
