  • Support the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts on a true and fair basis, including posting accruals, prepayments, and other journals.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of changes where appropriate.
  • Prepare accurate and timely data analysis to support the Capital Programme & Procurement Management Accounts pack and Operational Performance Reports.
  • Participate in cross-business reviews to analyse cost data, understand variances, and assess cause-and-effect relationships.
  • Document current business processes, identifying hotspots and working with stakeholders to improve controls and efficiency.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects as required.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the business, including senior teams.
  • Attend operational reviews at other UK locations as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or actively studying towards an accounting qualification.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and explain it clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and committed team player who is willing to go the extra mile to support colleagues.
  • Strong Excel skills, including PivotTables, SUMIFs, and XLOOKUPs, with an ability to streamline and automate processes.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, particularly around accruals, prepayments, and Capex projects.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, SQL, or other analytical tools is desirable.
  • Experience in a regulated industry or project delivery environment is advantageous but not essential.
