The Role
We are looking for a relationship-focused Account Manager to join our Life Sciences team and work closely with clients attending and participating in our international events. This role combines account management and delegate sales, with approximately 60% of your time focused on account management and client relationships and 40% on delegate sales. You'll work closely with the Sponsorship team to ensure clients receive an excellent experience and that all contractual deliverables are successfully delivered. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships and providing outstanding client service, while still being commercially motivated.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop long-term relationships with clients across the Life Sciences portfolio.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout the event cycle.
- Work closely with the Sponsorship team to ensure contractual deliverables are delivered accurately and on time.
- Understand client requirements and provide proactive support and solutions.
- Build trust and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Support delegate sales activity and contribute towards event revenue targets.
- Manage approximately 40% delegate sales / 60% account management.
- Follow up with prospects and clients through telephone, email and LinkedIn.
- Identify opportunities to increase client engagement and event attendance.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all client information is kept up to date.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a smooth client experience.
About You
- We're looking for someone who is naturally relationship-focused and customer-centric.
- Confident communicating with clients and senior stakeholders.
- Organised, proactive and highly attentive to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple clients and deadlines.
- Commercially aware without being purely sales-focused.
- Able to build trust and develop long-term relationships.
- A strong communicator with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ideally experienced in B2B events, account management, customer success or a similar environment.
- Comfortable working towards commercial targets and supporting delegate sales activity.
- You don't need extensive Life Sciences experience. Personality, attitude and relationship-building ability are more important than having a long list of sector-specific experience.
Life Sciences Events
You'll work across a portfolio of major international Life Sciences events, including:
- Advanced Therapies Europe – Barcelona – approximately 800 attendees.
- Advanced Therapies Week – San Diego – approximately 2,500 attendees.
The role offers the opportunity to work with an international client base and potentially attend the events you support.
Progression & Package
- £33,000–£35,000 basic salary.
- £50,000+ OTE.
- Commission earned across delegate sales activity.
- Hybrid working with 3 days per week in the Fulham office.
- Opportunity for career progression within the wider commercial business.
- The vacancies have arisen following internal promotions into Sponsorship and an internal move into another department, providing a strong example of the progression opportunities available within the business.
Interview Process
- The process consists of three stages:
- Initial interview via Teams.
- Second Teams interview including a role play.
- Final on-site interview focused on your interest in the company and role, alongside values and behaviours.
