Receptionist / Administrator Location: M6 ROM Project Office, Nethercleuch, near Lockerbie, DG11 2SQ Contract: 11-month fixed-term contract, ending July 2027 Rate: Β£14.00 per hour Driving: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required due to the remote location. Morson Edge is recruiting on behalf of Sir Robert McAlpine for a Receptionist / Administrator to join the M6 DBFO Routine Operations and Maintenance Contract team. This is primarily an administrative and document control role, with some reception and telephone responsibilities. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to the project office, maintaining accurate records, updating spreadsheets and SharePoint, processing documentation and handling inbound calls from a range of internal and external contacts. As the project operates on a motorway contract, the role will also involve receiving calls relating to incidents and operational matters from organisations such as the Police and National Highways. Therefore, a professional telephone manner, good customer service skills and the ability to remain calm and organised when dealing with enquiries are important. Administration & Office Support Answer the office telephone and direct calls to the appropriate person. Answer and manage the emergency telephone. Record incoming mail on spreadsheets and upload documentation to SharePoint, allocating appropriate file reference numbers. Log and manage archived information and records. Operate remote electronic access gates via telephone/intercom systems. Provide general administrative support to the project team. Provide holiday cover for the Office Manager in relation to wages returns to Head Office. Incident & Customer Service Support Accurately record details of incidents, comments and complaints. Liaise with the Duty Engineer, Police, National Highways and other external agencies where required. Take appropriate action in accordance with project procedures. Document Control Log method statements and risk assessments onto spreadsheets and update SharePoint. Upload and maintain documentation within the project Data Room. Manage and maintain accurate document control records. Ensure information is recorded accurately and is readily accessible to the relevant project teams. Reporting & Data Management Comments and complaints Environmental information, including waste data Log abnormal loads onto spreadsheets to support the Technical Assistant. Provide administrative assistance to project staff and operatives as required. Support colleagues with general office administration. Undertake any other reasonable duties assigned by the Project Manager. We are looking for an organised and reliable administrator who is comfortable working in a busy project environment and dealing with a variety of people over the telephone and in person. Previous experience in an administration, office support, customer service or reception-based role. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Confidence working with spreadsheets, databases and electronic filing systems. Experience using systems such as SharePoint would be advantageous. A professional and friendly telephone manner. Good customer service skills and the ability to deal confidently with external organisations and members of the public. A willingness to support colleagues and undertake a varied range of administrative duties. Due to the remote location of the project office, applicants must be able to drive and have access to their own transport to reliably travel to the site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Administrator or Customer Service professional to join a major infrastructure project and gain experience within a busy motorway operations and maintenance environment.
