We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer for SRP based out of Warrington on a hybrid basis to support the delivery of the SRP Project. In addition to the skills and experience in accordance with R2A2 PPP/ED/24, the candidate shall have the following specific skills and experience. Note: It is recognised that design compliance with EDSPs dictate that the candidate would have previously produced designs for Sellafield Limited as the EDSPs are SLs understanding of the ONR SAPS; therefore, this requirement is NOT essential. BPSS clearance is required for this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production and update of 3D models and mechanical design drawings including but not limited to GA's, sub-assemblies detail design drawings, layouts, MFDs etc.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Experience in the use of AutoDesk Inventor
  • Experience in the use of AutoDesk Vault Basic or Vault Pro (file management)
  • Working knowledge of the BS 8888, BS EN ISO 8015, BS EN ISO 1101 & BS EN ISO 5459
  • Experience in providing support to resolution of manufacturing technical queries/production permits/concessions
  • Experience in providing support to resolution of testing queries/FoBs
  • Experience in the design/detail design of machines, plant & equipment

DESIRABLE:

  • Awareness and experience of working with SL Engineering Standards and specifications
  • Retrieval of information from DM desktop and other record management systems
  • Experience in designing in a nuclear environment
  • Experience in design and integration of machines in accordance with the SoMSR
  • Experience in production of O&M manuals
  • Experience in production of Design Risk assessment in accordance with BS EN 12100
  • Working knowledge of key legislation CDM, SoMSR, PUWER & LOLER
