Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced Senior CS&A Engineers to strengthen our Civil and Structural capability and support the delivery of complex, safety-critical engineering projects.
These are 12-month rolling contract opportunities, offering hybrid working from either Westlakes, Whitehaven or Warrington.
The Role
As a Senior CS&A Engineer, you will take a leading role in the development, verification and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the development of civil and structural engineering designs and solutions Preparing and verifying technical documentation, specifications and design justifications Producing and checking Safety Functional Requirements (SFRs), Structural Design Method Statements (SDMSs) and Design Substantiation Reports (DSRs) Preparing and reviewing calculations, analysis reports, Basis of Design documents, material specifications, CDM documentation and technical reports Ensuring engineering designs comply with relevant standards, regulatory requirements, nuclear safety and quality requirements Managing and checking deliverables produced by junior engineers Providing technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers Liaising with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary project stakeholders Supporting project planning, cost estimating and risk management activities Producing clear, high-quality technical reports and engineering documentation
About You
We are looking for experienced Civil/Structural Engineers with:
Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body Strong civil and structural engineering principles and design experience Experience producing and checking high-quality technical deliverables Experience with finite element modelling (FEA/FEM) software and associated post-processing tools Understanding of validation and verification requirements for engineering modelling tools and outputs Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements Good understanding of health and safety legislation and CDM Understanding of design tools within a BIM environment Ability to solve and communicate complex engineering problems clearly Strong nuclear or similar highly regulated industry experience
