Our client is a well-established civil engineering subcontractor seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a predominantly office-based role with occasional site visits across the Lincolnshire area, working on housing, infrastructure, and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications
- Carry out site visits to assess project requirements
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors
- Price groundworks and civil engineering packages, including commercial schemes
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Prepare and submit compliant tender submissions
- Support pre-construction planning and commercial handovers
- Assist with pricing variations and value engineering
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Estimator within groundworks or civil engineering
- Experience across housing, infrastructure, and commercial projects
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts (NEC4 preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Esti-mate experience beneficial)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
