Mechanical Fitter (MEICA / Water Industry)
Midlands Region Based out of Castle Donington Company Van & Fuel Card Provided PAYE Contract Role with Potential for Permanent Employment
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a growing team delivering projects and maintenance works across the Environment Agency MEICA Framework.
Working across various sites throughout the Midlands, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, installation, refurbishment, and fault-finding on a range of mechanical assets including pumps, gearboxes, penstocks, sluice gates, valves, and pipework.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical professional looking for long-term, stable work within the water and infrastructure sector, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent full-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance Installation and refurbishment of mechanical equipment Mechanical fault-finding and repairs Working on pumps, gearboxes, valves, penstocks, sluice gates, and associated pipework Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures and industry standards
Essential Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or similar role Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings CSCS Card or relevant industry certification Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
Previous water industry experience Confined Space Training IPAF / MEWP Certification Slinging & Signalling PASMA
