We have a brand new role for an RF Engineer / Microwave Engineer, to join our client's multidisciplinary NPI team on a permanent basis.
This role will suit an engineer who enjoys getting hands-on, solving complex problems and seeing their designs become real products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design new RF electronics and amplifiers and take designs from concept through implementation, troubleshooting and documentation.
- Deliver complete RF hardware development, including circuit architecture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout and BOM creation.
- Perform RF measurements and characterisation of modules, circuits and components.
- Collect accurate, conclusive test data and turn it into clear engineering conclusions and actionable improvements.
- Analyse experimental data and use evidence-based engineering to guide design decisions.
- Troubleshoot existing and legacy RF designs, identifying root causes and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide hands-on technical support to production, collaborating with operators and technicians to solve problems and remove barriers to success.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively to demanding deadlines.
Skills / Experience Required
- BSc or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Practical experience working within an NPI, product development or manufacturing engineering environment.
- Demonstrated experience taking an electronic design from concept through development and into production.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with everyone from experienced engineers to non-technical production staff.
- Strong knowledge of HF/VHF semiconductors, RF components and their manufacturers.
- Understanding of Class C, D and E amplifier operation.
- Experience with high-frequency PCB design techniques and RF layout.
- Experience designing high-power discrete-component matching networks.
- Understanding of FCC/CE testing and certification requirements.
