Working Pattern: Site based / full time

We're working in partnership with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Compliance Manager for a key site-based leadership role. This is a critical opportunity to take ownership of food and feed safety, hygiene and quality compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, playing a central role in protecting product integrity and driving continuous improvement across site operations.

The Role

You'll be responsible for leading food and feed safety, hygiene and quality compliance at site level, ensuring operations meet internal standards, external regulatory requirements and business performance targets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading site delivery of food/feed safety, hygiene and quality standards
  • Acting as the site subject matter expert and ambassador for compliance
  • Leading HACCP activities and food safety risk assessments
  • Ensuring effective hygiene validation, allergen control and microbiological monitoring
  • Managing internal, external and regulatory audits, including corrective action close-out
  • Analysing performance data and driving evidence-led continuous improvement
  • Managing hygiene-critical suppliers and service contracts
  • Leading, coaching and developing site compliance team members
  • Supporting site leadership as part of the manufacturing leadership team

About You

  • Proven experience managing food/feed safety and hygiene within FMCG or food manufacturing
  • Food science, food technology or similar technical background
  • HACCP Team Leader (minimum Level 4) and Food Safety qualified
  • Quality Management Systems audit experience (e.g. BRC, FEMAS)
  • Strong understanding of food microbiology, hygiene standards and legislation
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong people leadership, coaching and team development skills
  • Highly analytical with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
