Purpose of role: To support a structured, evidence led internal review of Canal & River Trust engagement on the specified area of canal/river, suitable for internal assurance and potential Health & Safety Executive (HSE) scrutiny. The role involves conducting a thorough assessment of all relevant evidence and documentation associated with the Canal & River Trust's historical stakeholder engagement activities relating to the specified area of canal/river, with particular attention to Health & Safety risks, legal obligations, and organizational decision-making processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing existing documents within CRT systems such as emails, SharePoint files, permits, RAMS, safety notifications, meeting records, events, business boating licenses, and agreements while organizing and structuring these materials to build a comprehensive audit timeline.
- Analysing all Health & Safety data, identifying risk types (including public safety, navigation, contractor operations, environmental, reputational), and CRT's responses, appropriately categorizing findings.
- Preparing a detailed report encompassing an executive summary that synthesizes research outcomes with a comprehensive timeline of activity.
- Collaborating with colleagues holding pertinent data including: Regional Director, Head of Boating, Boating & Customer Service Manager, Project Manager, Health & Safety personnel, and Customer Service Assistants.
Expected Outputs:
- A structured filing system and records pertaining to the specified area.
- A transparent and auditable timeline of actions and activities.
- Working with the Regional Director to identify outstanding tasks, develop a comprehensive action log, schedule meetings, and monitor progress across the team to ensure their completion with a clear audit trail.
- Potentially other administrative tasks including updating 4Risk system and sorting and organising project filing for other areas of work.
