The Opportunity
An established industrial services contractor is looking to recruit experienced Advanced Scaffolders to join its growing team at a major engineering and defence site in Plymouth.
This is an excellent opportunity for qualified scaffolders who can safely lead a team, deliver complex scaffolding projects, and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
The Role
As an Advanced Scaffolder, you will be responsible for carrying out complex scaffolding operations while supervising and leading a team of scaffolders on site. You will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with current industry standards and legislation.
Applicants must hold a valid CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise teams carrying out advanced scaffolding operations.
Erect, modify and dismantle a variety of complex scaffold structures safely and efficiently.
Interpret scaffold drawings, specifications and technical information.
Plan work activities, allocate labour and organise materials.
Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice.
Carry out work on a range of advanced scaffold types, including:
Tube and fitting scaffolds
Drop scaffolds
Cantilever scaffolds
Temporary roof systems
Shoring structures
Stair towers and access ramps
Aluminium tower systems
Work closely with supervisors, management teams and client representatives.
Travel to different project locations when required

Essential Knowledge
Tube & Fitting Scaffolding
Health & Safety legislation
British Standards and scaffolding regulations
Scaffold inspection requirements
Safe systems of work for advanced scaffold structures
Desirable Knowledge
Layher, Cuplock, HAKI or Plettac system scaffolds
Good numeracy and literacy skills
Essential Experience
Minimum 5 years scaffolding experience
Experience leading teams on complex scaffolding projects
Previous experience on industrial, infrastructure or heavy engineering sites
Essential Qualifications
CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card
NVQ Level 3 in Scaffolding (or equivalent)
CISRS Part 1 & Part 2 Training
CISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS)
Desirable Qualifications
GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
Design & Technology qualification
