Morson Edge are working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to recruit a Senior Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career within a well-established consultancy delivering projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, public sector, residential, industrial and insurance sectors.
Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering a broad range of project and professional building surveying services while helping to strengthen client relationships and support the continued growth of the regional Building Surveying team.
The Opportunity
We are looking to speak with commercially aware Senior Building Surveyors who enjoy managing projects, developing long-term client relationships and mentoring junior colleagues. This role offers a varied workload, combining technical delivery, project management, client engagement and business development, providing an excellent platform for future career progression within a leading consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a wide range of building surveying services across multiple sectors.
- Lead and manage refurbishment, alteration and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for repeat business.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications and contract documentation.
- Carry out technical reviews to ensure high standards of project delivery.
- Manage project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.
- Mentor and support junior Building Surveyors within the team.
- Contribute to business development and support the continued growth of the Building Surveying team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- MRICS qualified (or working towards chartership).
- Previous consultancy experience within Building Surveying.
- Strong project management and technical building surveying experience.
- Experience delivering projects across commercial, public sector or mixed-use developments.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong report writing and technical presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Desirable Experience
- Experience across education, healthcare, residential, industrial or insurance sectors.
- Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery.
- Experience mentoring junior surveyors.
- Commercial awareness with an interest in supporting business development.
- Full UK driving licence.
