The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial function across multiple projects. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for someone looking to step into a strategic position with team management responsibility and long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of multiple civil engineering schemes
  • Oversee cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts, and negotiations
  • Review and manage variations, valuations, and final accounts
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistants
  • Provide commercial input into project planning and risk management
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and company procedures
  • Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience managing multiple projects and commercial teams
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience)
  • Full UK driving licence
