The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of the commercial function across multiple projects. This is a senior leadership role, ideal for someone looking to step into a strategic position with team management responsibility and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of multiple civil engineering schemes
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage subcontractor procurement, accounts, and negotiations
- Review and manage variations, valuations, and final accounts
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistants
- Provide commercial input into project planning and risk management
- Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and company procedures
- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Experience managing multiple projects and commercial teams
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (or equivalent experience)
- Full UK driving licence
