We are seeking an experienced Project Risk Manager, ideally with SC Security Clearance to support the delivery of large-scale construction and infrastructure programmes within a complex, regulated environment. This is a senior Risk SME role where you will lead the development and embedding of robust risk frameworks, ensuring effective governance, improved predictability, and high-quality decision-making across major projects and programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end project and programme risk management activities
- Deliver qualitative and quantitative risk analysis (including QRA and Monte Carlo simulation)
- Facilitate risk workshops, scenario planning, and deep-dive sessions
- Produce dashboards, heat maps, and board-level risk reporting
- Ensure consistent risk tools, processes, and governance standards
- Work closely with project controls, engineering, commercial, and delivery teams
- Track mitigation actions and monitor overall risk exposure trends
- Strong experience in risk management on major infrastructure, engineering, or construction programmes
- Proven ability in both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
- Experience with risk modelling tools and techniques
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight
- Experience in regulated/high-complexity environments (e.g. defence, rail, nuclear, utilities)
- Understanding of project controls (planning and cost)
- Awareness of government risk frameworks (e.g. Orange Book)
- Professional risk qualifications (IRM, APM, PMI-RMP, MoR)
6 Month contract with scope to extend. Circa £580 per day inside IR35. Hybrid working with 3 days per week on site in Milton Keynes.
