We are delighted to be partnering with a fantastic charity based in Hessle, who are looking to appoint a Junior HR Advisor to join their supportive and established HR team. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity, based from the organisation’s HQ in Hessle. The salary ranges from £26,000 to £31,500, depending on experience. You will report directly to the HR Manager.

For the first three months, the role will be predominantly office-based to allow you to build key relationships and fully embed yourself within the organisation, with some occasional working from home. Following this period, the role offers increased flexibility, with home working available and a requirement to attend the Hessle office once per week, alongside occasional travel to local services when required.

The Role

This is a true generalist HR position, acting as the first point of contact for all HR-related queries across the organisation. You will manage day-to-day HR matters, escalating more complex issues to the HR Manager, and will be supported by an HR Apprentice who provides administrative assistance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting end-to-end recruitment activity, including arranging interviews, managing onboarding, attracting candidates, and organising recruitment fairs
  • Managing employee relations cases from start to finish
  • Coaching and supporting line managers, helping to upskill them in handling low-level cases
  • Assisting with compensation and benefits activity
  • Taking ownership of performance management, including the development and delivery of workshops
  • Supporting a range of HR projects as required

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a busy HR function within a generalist HR role
  • CIPD qualified
  • Strong employment law knowledge
  • Access to your own vehicle with a valid driving licence for occasional travel to local sites
