Morson have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head of Neighbourhood Services. You will have an accountable leadership role in assisting the work of the Director - Communities in ensuring the delivery of the council's universal neighbourhood offer. The post holder will have strategic and operational responsibility to deliver a high quality, joined up and effective neighbourhood function of the council.

Lead and inspire the service to successfully deliver an excellent all-age customer experience. Lead responsibility for embedding the new neighbourhood model across the five neighbourhoods, providing end-to-end leadership of neighbourhood in the universal space, ensuring our integrated model — people, place, data, and early help — functions as a coherent, high-performing system.

Providing management and accountability by:

  • Defining and communicating the vision and council priorities in line with set policy and intent.
  • Ensuring that real need is being addressed.
  • Assuring ongoing sustainability of any function, and if necessary, taking the decision to cease.
  • Providing the teams with accountability, decisions, and management.
  • Ensuring the solutions deliver the impact and outcome in line with expectations.

You will have:

  • Proven track record of community leadership in a local authority or similar complex organisation.
  • Significant experience in the delivery of excellent customer focused community offer and related services and compliance with relevant financial, legal and statutory requirements.
  • Experience of leading, managing, developing and empowering colleagues at all levels in a changing environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and formulate, implement and review strategies, policy and processes.
  • Ability to lead service transformation and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence key partners.
  • Educated to degree level or relevant equivalent experience.
