We have excellent opportunities for Senior level Civil / Structural Engineers with our Client based in Glasgow. This role is mostly remote, with occasional trips to the Glasgow office (circa once every couple of months). These roles are inside IR35, and hourly rates will depend on levels of experience. Candidates will require SC Level Security Clearance, but if successful, could start work with the basic BPSS clearance initially. You will be a UK National, with British Passport, and not have worked outside the UK (for periods of over 30 days) during the past 5 years.

About the Role

The successful candidates will be joining an already strong UK Team who specialise in solving the most complex and technically demanding structural engineering problems. Each project is unique, but typically involves consideration of dynamic load effects due to extreme hazards, including seismic, blast and impact. Working as a team, starting from first principles, researching methodologies, challenging assumptions, thinking outside the box and constantly learning. Nuclear experience would be ideal, as would seismic design experience. Actions are fully evidenced and justified via 3rd party review and ultimately the Nuclear Safety Regulators. These are very varied roles.

Projects

  • Reinforced concrete structures
  • Plated steel structures
  • Maritime structures
  • Specialised facilities for submarines

Designed from Glasgow, Edinburgh and London - which could be the hybrid office base.

Responsibilities

  • Interdisciplinary project planning, delivery and financial performance.
  • Provision of technical quality and excellence of project deliverables.
  • Providing technical and professional guidance and support to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Adherence and contribution to business and quality management systems.
  • Operational and design safety, and developing a good safety culture.
  • Good all-round technical design expertise using British and International Standards and/or Eurocodes.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and preparation of project deliverables, including managing quality, budget, programme and resources.

Qualifications

  • Good, accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer.
  • Experience in Revit 3D modelling.
  • SAT2000 structural analysis experience would be advantageous.
  • Experience with steel structures/plated structures.
