V06220 – Senior Structures Engineer BAE Systems Warton, Samlesbury, Brough or Prestwick 6 positions 12 months BPSS with full SC, subject to ITAR Inside IR35 Job description: To ensure we support our growing world-wide fast jet development we need to increase the size of our Structural Analysis team. As a Senior Structures Engineer within that team you will need to have a thorough knowledge Aircraft Structural Analysis covering metallics and composites using a range of analysis techniques from traditional hand calculations through to computational techniques such as Finite Element Analysis. Engineering knowledge sufficient to supervise junior/early career engineers. Core Duties Typical duties include (but are not limited to): Typically, you will have experience in one or more of the following areas: · Structural sizing and analysis · Finite Element Analysis Dependent upon your specialist experience and knowledge, you will be responsible for activities such as: · Defining and carrying out engineering analysis tasks allocated to you and to your team members. · Mentoring and developing less experienced colleagues to build up the team’s knowledge, skill and experience across the Structures discipline. · Ensuring effective interactions between team mates, suppliers, customers and others, to develop efficient and effective working practices, and resolving issues as they arise to maintain this effectiveness. · Carrying out analysis of structure using finite element analysis, traditional hand-calculations and calculations using a variety of software applications, to demonstrate that the structural design meets relevant certification and project requirements. · Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis. · Individual Requirements
