We are seeking two experienced Shift Electricians to join the engineering team at Tarmac's Linford site on an ongoing contract. This is a hands-on maintenance role within a busy manufacturing environment, supporting the safe and efficient operation of plant and production equipment.

Shift Pattern

  • Employees work a rotating shift pattern consisting of blocks of day shifts and night shifts followed by multiple rest days, this includes weekends:
  • Night Shift (18:00pm – 06:00am)
  • Day Shift (06:00am – 18:00pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and production machinery
  • Diagnose faults and repair electrical systems and equipment
  • Maintain and replace components including motors, inverter drives, contactors, and control systems
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety and statutory standards
  • Respond to breakdowns and planned maintenance across the site
  • Work both independently and as part of the wider engineering team

Requirements

  • Recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with motors, drives, and automation control systems
  • 17th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations (or equivalent)
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use maintenance systems

Desirable

  • Experience in heavy industrial, aggregates, or continuous process environments
  • PLC experience (Siemens S5 / S7)
  • Shift-based maintenance experience
