We are seeking an AIT Skilled Production Technician to join an innovative team manufacturing high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This is an exciting opportunity to work on state-of-the-art stratospheric aircraft and ground support systems.
About the Role
You will play a key role in manufacturing advanced UAV platforms to time, cost, and quality standards. This includes the installation and integration of avionic and mechanical systems, the production of in-house avionic components, and ensuring the highest levels of precision and safety throughout the build process.
Key Responsibilities
- Install avionic and mechanical equipment, wiring, and system integration on UAV platforms.
- Manufacture avionic components as required.
- Maintain accurate build records and self-certify completed work.
- Follow health and safety processes and report any issues.
- Handle fragile and flexible components with care.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, problem-solving, and corrective actions.
- Conduct and document installation and system integration tests.
Requirements
- Multi-skilled avionic/electronic engineering technician with hands-on experience.
- Strong knowledge of production and maintenance processes to high-quality standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and translate them into finished products.
- Proven ability to proactively solve technical problems.
- Experience in avionic hardware production and wiring installations.
- Quality-conscious and organised work approach.
Preferred Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Time-served apprenticeship in avionic/electronic manufacture, installation, or testing.
