Morson Edge is proud to be supporting a major delivery partner on one of the UK's most high-profile infrastructure projects - Sizewell C. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Geotechnical Sub-Alliance (GSA), a critical workstream responsible for enabling the main construction phase through specialist ground engineering techniques.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key commercial role within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary alliance environment, contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of complex civil engineering works including piling, diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and grouting.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will act as a key member of the commercial team on site in Saxmundham, taking ownership of core commercial activities while supporting senior stakeholders across the project. You'll be working in a fast-paced, high-value environment where strong commercial acumen and proactive engagement are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities and develop strong supply chain relationships
- Support the commercial lead in delivering cost control and value optimisation strategies
- Independently measure, record, and value works, including preparation of Bills of Quantities and first-principles estimates
- Lead on cost reporting, reconciliations, and commercial governance
- Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure alignment on commercial objectives
- Utilise ERP systems to track cost and value, ensuring accuracy and compliance
About You
- Degree qualified (BSc/MSc) in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
- Working towards or already chartered (RICS, ICES, CIOB preferred)
- Strong analytical capability with excellent attention to detail
- Confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Effective communicator with a collaborative, delivery-focused mindset
- Proven commercial experience within construction or infrastructure environments
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with NEC forms of contract
- Background in piling, geotechnical, or heavy civils works
