About the Role
We are currently recruiting for Warehouse Operatives to join a busy distribution centre for our client based in Exeter. The role will involve voice picking and LLOP picking, as well as picking and packing within an ambient warehouse environment. Operatives may also be required to work within a chilled environment when required. This is a physically active and fast-paced warehouse role, requiring reliability, good attention to detail and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Voice picking and LLOP picking
- Picking and packing products accurately and efficiently
- Working primarily in an ambient warehouse environment
- Supporting operations within a chilled environment when required
- Operating LLOP equipment safely following appropriate training
- Following all Health & Safety, Manual Handling and site procedures
- Meeting productivity and accuracy standards
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Working effectively as part of a team
Working Hours
21:00 – 05:30
40 hours paid per week
Break is unpaid
5 out of 7 days rota, with the rota to be provided
Pay Rates
£14.45 per hour basic pay
Additional £3.50 per hour night-shift allowance for hours worked between 23:00 and 05:00
Induction & Training
All successful candidates will complete a one-day induction on the day shift before moving onto the night shift. The induction will include:
- Health & Safety training
- Manual Handling training
- LLOP training
PPE Requirements
Safety shoes – candidates may use their own safety shoes. If they do not have a pair, safety shoes can be provided. Hi-Vis clothing is required.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidates will be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Able to work night shifts and a 5-out-of-7 rota
- Comfortable working in both ambient and, when required, chilled environments
- Able to follow instructions and Health & Safety procedures
- A good team player with a positive attitude
Previous warehouse experience is beneficial. LLOP experience is advantageous, but training will be provided as part of the induction.
