About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Project Planner to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of production and project activities across our clients business within Devonport Dockyard. This role is key to ensuring smooth and efficient operations while promoting and embedding a strong safety-first culture throughout all activities. You will work closely with operational teams, senior management, and clients to provide valuable business insights, maintain project schedules, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be highly organised, data-driven, and confident working across multiple stakeholders and business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and coordination of operational and production activities to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Promote and reinforce a strong health and safety culture across all work scopes and site activities.
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards for operations teams and senior management.
- Analyse operational and business data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Produce business insights and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Work with Technical Authorities to develop detailed operational processes and robust work plans.
- Translate complex project plans into clear, transparent programmes and milestones for all business levels.
- Coordinate labour resources in collaboration with Project Discipline Managers to align with project scope and budgets.
- Create and maintain programmes of work across multiple divisions.
- Forecast labour and resource requirements to support operational delivery.
- Support teams during the implementation of new processes and standard working practices.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project coordination.

Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience in operations planning, project controls, scheduling, or production coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret numerical and operational data.
- Experience producing KPI reports and management dashboards.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders effectively.
- Strong understanding of health & safety standards within operational or industrial environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning/scheduling systems.
- Experience implementing process improvements and standard work practices is desirable.
