We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead the Blast and Paint Division, ensuring the successful delivery of contracted painting and blasting services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational performance, and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will provide leadership, technical expertise, and resource management across multiple projects, promoting a culture aligned with our core values: Colleagueship, Modesty, Trust, Reliability, Respect, Professionalism, and Result Orientation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety
    • Develop compliance sheets and associated Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE legislation and ensure all updates are communicated throughout the workforce.
    • Promote and enforce high safety standards in line with company and client requirements.
    • Liaise with the Safety Department during incident investigations and support corrective actions.
  • Operations
    • Attend planning and pre-start meetings, contributing to schedules and project planning activities.
    • Manage and monitor Blast and Paint equipment inventories and asset registers.
    • Receive, interpret, and respond to blast and paint enquiries.
    • Ensure the successful delivery of contracted blasting and painting activities while maintaining strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
    • Support Operations Managers with planning, labour, and equipment requirements for remedial and post-project works.
    • Troubleshoot technical and quality issues, providing guidance, resources, and solutions to ensure client satisfaction.
    • Plan and coordinate manpower, consumables, and equipment to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Work collaboratively with Operations Managers, Lead Managers, and clients to align labour resources with project scope and commercial targets.
    • Drive the implementation of LEAN principles within the Blast and Paint Division.
  • People Management
    • Manage the Blast and Paint Division Training Matrix to maintain workforce competency and capability.
    • Provide instruction and guidance on the safe use of tools, materials, and equipment.
    • Monitor attendance and timekeeping to support accurate payroll processing.
    • Ensure Supervisors manage absence procedures, return-to-work interviews, and company policy compliance.
    • Coordinate site inductions and PPE allocation for all new Blast and Paint personnel.
    • Ensure exit interviews are conducted for all leavers.
    • Support disciplinary procedures and first-stage grievance hearings where required.
  • Commercial Responsibilities
    • Review tender documentation relating to blast and paint operations in collaboration with Commercial and operational teams.
    • Assist with estimating works, preparing measures, and resolving commercial queries.
    • Conduct site surveys and liaise with clients, Operations Managers, and Commercial teams.
    • Support the preparation of quotations and tenders.
    • Assist with reconciliation activities to ensure timely close-out of commercial matters.
    • Ensure procurement of consumables follows company procedures.
    • Provide productivity and time management data to support operational reporting.
    • Maintain historical project data for pricing, scheduling, and tender preparation purposes.
