Electrician / Electrical Fitter (Water Industry) Location: Nottingham (with UK-wide travel) Contract Type: Temporary (4 months minimum – temp to perm potential) Salary: Β£29.00 per hour PAYE plus associated benefits Summary We are seeking a skilled Electrician / Electrical Fitter to join one of our premier clients, a leading UK based and international water management company to support sites across the North of England. The position is available from late September 2026 and will continue until Christmas 2026 as a minimum for the right candidate. It is highly likely the arrangement will be extended into 2027 or potentially a permanent role offered accordingly following the initial period. The role involves installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and commissioning of industrial and wastewater electrical equipment on customer sites. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team, focusing primarily on maintenance, breakdown repairs, and some new installations (approximately 15% of workload is install). The position requires fault finding to component level, preventative maintenance on pumps and machinery, site surveys, and equipment refurbishment. Based from our clients Nottingham premises, travel across the North of England is expected, with occasional lodging away from home. This role offers opportunities to develop expertise in industrial automation, instrumentation, controls, and wastewater technologies while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities β€’ Install, commission, test, and maintain industrial electrical and mechanical equipment. β€’ Diagnose and repair electrical faults to component level. β€’ Perform planned preventative maintenance on pumps, machinery, and wastewater equipment. β€’ Respond to emergency breakdowns and participate in an on-call rota. β€’ Conduct site inspections, technical surveys, and prepare reports for quotations. β€’ Install and commission instrumentation, control systems, and associated equipment. β€’ Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service documentation. β€’ Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records using electronic systems. β€’ Strip, refurbish, and rebuild industrial pumps, motors, and related equipment. β€’ Work safely at height, in confined spaces, and across various industrial site environments. β€’ Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to meet project objectives. β€’ Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
