Morson Talent currently have an exciting new position for a Commercial Officer to join our prestigious Aerospace client based in Edinburgh. This role is initially a 12 month contract with potential for extension.
The role will be responsible for providing commercial support across the Surveillance portfolio, including leading smaller bid activity. The role requires building strong relationships with the IPT and customer team, to enhance collaboration and identify opportunities for growth. The key for this role is the ability to work independently on assigned tasks but also play a supporting role in broader initiatives.
This position will support the Contracts Manager in delivering existing business and bids on behalf of the commercial function. The individual will contribute to a successful programme for CS3 by supporting current performance, promoting best practices, and helping to develop sustainable business opportunities.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:- Support the Contracts Manager in the area, developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, whilst building a visible commercial presence on site.
- Represent the commercial function in stakeholder meetings, including attending independently without senior support, where appropriate.
- Support the preparation and submission of bids, ensuring proposals are aligned with customer requirements, maximise value and provide innovative solutions (with Contracts Manager support).
- Deputise for Contracts Manager by attending meetings and providing continuity when required.
- Providing ad-hoc support to additional bid activity outside the surveillance area.
- Manage day to day contract administration, including repeatable low-value proposals, SAP transactions, credit and debit notes and debt management activities.
- A positive attitude expressed in drive, motivation and commitment in executing the tasks in a cross functional and multidiscipline team is essential.
- A working knowledge of SAP is desirable.
- Intermediate Excel Skills.
- A self-starter that takes accountability for the allocated tasks.
- A working knowledge of the company's processes is desirable.
- An understanding of Military Export Customer support organisation, operations, commercial and management structure is desirable.
- Knowledge of Military Export use of products and services is desirable.
- Good communication skills (written, verbal, formal presentation) and interpersonal skills (influencing, negotiating and motivation) at all levels of the business.
Occasional Remote Worker (~90% onsite)
Pay Rate: up to £35 p/h (PAYE)
