Remote role, 2 days a month on site

Rate up to £60 PH Umbrella SC required

To carry out, in support of the relevant Project Safety Engineer (PSE), the system safety analysis activities for design and in-service support.

Primary tasks will include the authoring of Hazard Assessments in conjunction with the technical specialists and performing detailed analysis of failure conditions, in order to influence the safe design and certification of Leonardo products. In-service support of existing Leonardo products, including development of necessary modifications, will also be a required part of the role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Author system safety analysis documents iaw the System Safety Analysis Approach and project-specific Safety Management Plans
  • Perform Functional Hazard Assessments
  • Create and utilise fault trees in the assessment of failure conditions
  • Carry out qualitative and quantitative failure condition analyses
  • Conduct Zonal safety analyses/assessments
  • Perform analysis supporting Master Minimum Equipment Lists
  • Identify and track to technical publications any relevant safety advice for operators
  • Conduct Operating & Support Hazard Analysis/Occupational Health Hazard Analysis
  • Provide design safety advice to technical areas
  • Support the PSE/TTL in the assembly of safety cases/TASA/ASSC
  • Support the PSE in the running of project safety meetings
  • Support the PSE in the management and tracking of system safety tasks
  • You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.

Key Skills

  • Awareness of purpose and methods of functional and safety analysis of complex systems
  • Knowledge of specific IT tools such as Fault Tree, and requirements capture tools, such as DOORS, is highly desirable.
