Morson Talent are currently looking for local Slingers to work on-site in Rosyth Dockyard. Join a dynamic team supporting complex lifting and transport operations across a wide range of equipment including mobile cranes, Goliath cranes, overhead travelling cranes, forklift trucks, SPMTs, and other mechanical handling systems. You will be responsible for carrying out lifting activities safely and efficiently, in full compliance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998 and all relevant method statements. This hands-on role requires a strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out lifting, turning, slinging, and transportation of plates, units, and equipment.
- Operate lifting and handling equipment including cranes, forklifts, sideloaders, telehandlers, MEWPs, and working at height systems.
- Perform routine equipment checks and ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Interpret and work from lifting and transport drawings and plans.
- Support planning and coordination of daily operations, including resource allocation and subcontractor liaison.
- Lead by example in maintaining team discipline, safe working practices, and high customer service standards.
- Promote a safety-first culture and take ownership of assigned tasks and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake training and development as required for the role.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Well-organised with effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks independently.
- Proactive, reliable, and committed, with a positive "can-do" attitude.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in slinging / rigging with the use of a range of equipment. (Plate / bulbar / beam clamps, magnets etc.)
- Recognised slinger signaller qualification - Min NVQ2 or equivalent.
- Recognised rigger / fleeting qualification.
- Fork lift driving certificates RTITB (Desirable)
- MEWPS Training, IPAF (Desirable)
Security Requirements: Successful candidates must be eligible to undergo BPSS and SC Clearance to work at the dockyard (Support will be provided through the application process).
Pay Rates
- PAYE - £19.41 per hour (Overtime £28.71 p/hr)
- Umbrella - £24.72 per hour (Overtime £37.65 p/hr) + Travel Allowance.
Work Arrangements
- 36 standard hours a week, (Monday to Thursday), shift and overtime a possibility but not guaranteed
- 32 days holiday annually (paid as holiday credit)
- 6 month initial contract
- The successful candidate will need to achieve full SC security clearance in order to fulfil this role.
