Contract: 12 months

Rate: Up to Β£78.06/hr (Umbrella)

We seek an engineer with recent high-integrity or safety-critical industry experience (defence, aerospace, or similar), or eligible for UK security clearance.

About the role

An experienced RF Engineer is required to support the development of advanced RF and microwave subsystems for next-generation, safety-critical defence technology. You'll work across the full hardware lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to integration, verification and production support, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams on cutting-edge RF solutions.

What you'll do:

  • Design and develop RF/microwave subsystems, PCBs and modules.
  • Support the full hardware lifecycle, from concept through to production.
  • Carry out RF testing, integration and design verification.
  • Produce manufacturing data packs, technical documentation and design reviews.
  • Work closely with systems, electronics and test engineers to solve complex integration challenges.

What you'll bring:

  • Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in RF/microwave circuit design.
  • Strong understanding of microwave theory and electromagnetic principles.
  • Experience with RF system integration and lab equipment (VNA, spectrum analysers, signal generators).
  • Knowledge of microwave design tools, passive microwave structures and GaAs/GaN MMICs.
  • Experience with design reviews, lifecycle management and technical documentation.
