Our client, a well-known building and civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Drainage & Infrastructure Design Engineer to join their team. This role is responsible for supporting the project lead as part of a team of engineers and technicians producing design solutions for construction.
You will have the ability to work effectively with a small team of graduate engineers and technicians and to deliver well-considered, quality design solutions in a manner which upholds the Visions and Values of the Company. You will be expected to use your engineering, time/cost awareness, and practical and technical knowledge to deliver design solutions that meet our contractual obligations, recognise current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, prepare construction methodology and buildability, and ensure they are of the right quality and are delivered to meet the proposed procurement and construction programmes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to (and can vary from time to time based on business/project requirements):
- Production of designs that are right first time.
- Prepare designs in accordance with MDG Procedures.
- Ensure that Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability considerations are adequately addressed.
- Be willing to follow instruction, but confident enough to ask for explanation if required.
- Drive the solution and make a difference.
- Supervise graduate/design engineer(s) along with CAD technicians.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, either internally or externally depending on the project.
- Attend project meetings with both internal and external disciplines and clients and/or their representatives.
- Provide support to the company in terms of relevant knowledge and experience.
