An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Integration Engineer to join a long-running and highly secure defence programme based in Christchurch.
You will join an established engineering team delivering a fully integrated Command & Control capability into the MoD environment. The programme covers the full engineering life cycle including software integration, deployment, implementation, testing, acceptance, training and ongoing support across multiple defence platforms.
This is a hands-on integration role suited to someone with strong Windows infrastructure and software deployment experience, ideally gained within secure or defence environments.
Responsibilities:
- Building and configuring Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11
- Integrating and configuring both COTS and bespoke software solutions
- Supporting software deployment, implementation and testing activities
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues within production environments
- Producing clear technical documentation and installation artefacts
- Working closely with engineers across software, infrastructure and delivery teams
- Supporting deployments and investigations at customer sites when required
Essential experience:
- Strong experience with Windows deployment tools
- Experience with Windows Server and Windows 11
- Knowledge of Group Policy and Active Directory
- PowerShell Scripting for installation/configuration tasks
- Experience producing technical documentation
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
- Strong understanding of software engineering and testing practices
Desirable experience:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Automated testing
- SharePoint administration
- Windows image creation and deployment
- Red Hat Linux
- Previous experience integrating COTS and bespoke applications in secure environments
Clearance requirements:
Due to the nature of the programme, candidates must hold: Active SC Clearance without caveats, Eligibility and willingness to undergo DV Clearance, Active DV clearance is highly desirable.
