We are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to support the delivery of subcontract works on a long-term bridge construction project. This role will focus on supervising site activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards, with a strong emphasis on formwork and reinforced concrete (RC) operations. You will play a key role in coordinating the workforce, monitoring progress, and maintaining high standards across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day site activities on bridge construction works.
- Monitor subcontractors and operatives to ensure work is carried out safely and in accordance with specifications.
- Oversee formwork and reinforced concrete works, ensuring correct installation and quality standards are met.
- Assist in implementing method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work.
- Conduct regular site inspections and report any issues or non-conformances.
- Support the Site Manager in tracking progress against programme.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Maintain site records including daily logs, labour returns, and progress updates.
- Deliver toolbox talks and support site inductions.
- Liaise with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operations.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on bridge construction or structural works.
- Strong knowledge of formwork and reinforced concrete (RC) activities.
- Good understanding of construction sequencing and site operations.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance requirements.
- Ability to supervise teams and coordinate subcontractors effectively.
- SSSTS certification.
- CSCS card.
- Desirable: Temporary Works Supervisor certification.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
- Experience on long-term infrastructure or highways projects.
- Familiarity with quality inspections and ITPs.
