The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Administrator / Customer Service Administrator to join a large, well-established organisation based in Pride Park, Derby, on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity for an organised and proactive Administrator who enjoys working in a busy environment, coordinating information and communicating with a wide range of people.
You will join a friendly and supportive team and play an important role in helping operational teams plan and complete essential work efficiently and compliantly.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Preparing and maintaining accurate job information and work packs.
- Ensuring all relevant information is available before work is scheduled.
- Liaising with internal teams, customers and external suppliers to gather information.
- Coordinating requirements such as traffic management and access arrangements.
- Communicating with local authorities and other external stakeholders where required.
- Updating systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Supporting operational teams by ensuring they have everything they need to complete their work.
- Managing multiple jobs and priorities at the same time.
- Responding quickly and efficiently to urgent or emergency requests.
- Providing a high level of customer service throughout the process.
- Ensuring all documentation and processes are completed accurately and compliantly.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is organised, methodical and confident communicating with different people. You do not necessarily need experience in the utilities sector. We are more interested in finding someone with strong administration and coordination skills who can pick things up quickly.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in an administrative, coordination or customer service role.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence dealing with different stakeholders.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
- The ability to remain calm and organised when working under pressure.
- Good IT skills and confidence using computer systems.
Experience within utilities, construction, planning, scheduling or a similar operational environment would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Working Hours
This role operates across a working window of 06:30 – 20:00, with shifts worked on an 11-week rota. You will be required to work 2 weekends within every 11-week period. There are also some additional benefits to the rota, including finishing 30 minutes earlier every Friday when working an early/day shift, or starting 30 minutes later on a Friday when working a late shift.
