This role is responsible for owning and delivering a defined set of cyber security training and awareness activities that help colleagues understand their security responsibilities and reduce human risk across the organisation. The role sits within the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) function and works very closely with the Cyber Security Culture & Behaviours Lead, taking accountability for key training and awareness workstreams and delivering them end to end.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple activities at once, and turning plans into practical, measurable outcomes.

Principal accountabilities:
  • Own and deliver defined cyber security training and awareness workstreams end to end, including new joiner cyber security induction and mandatory annual training, covering content development, refresh, delivery, deployment, completion tracking and impact measurement.
  • Design, maintain and deliver cyber security onboarding for new joiners, including head office colleagues and contractors, ensuring inductions are delivered regularly and materials remain current and relevant.
  • Develop and run a structured technical security training programme, starting with the software engineering community, including secure coding fundamentals, common vulnerability types and role-specific security expectations, working with technical stakeholders to ensure credibility and relevance.
  • Plan, execute and report on a quarterly phishing simulation programme, including organisation-wide campaigns and targeted simulations for senior executives, analysing results and feeding insights back into future training and awareness activity.
  • Design and deliver time-bound cyber security awareness campaigns, such as Cyber Security Awareness Month and other targeted interventions driven by emerging threats, incidents or business priorities.
  • Own and maintain the cyber security intranet presence (CISO Hub) as a central point for guidance, training and resources, keeping content accurate, easy to navigate and up to date.
  • Track, analyse and report on the effectiveness of training, phishing and awareness activities, using data to demonstrate progress, identify gaps and continuously improve the programme.
  • Work closely with the Cyber Security Culture & Behaviours Lead and Corporate Communications, aligning messaging and delivery and supporting wider CISO and security-led initiatives where awareness or behaviour change is needed.
  • Support additional awareness and culture-change activities where capacity allows, contributing to the longer-term maturity and transformation of the security awareness programme.
Knowledge, experience and skills include:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a security awareness, training, behavioural change, or similar role.
  • Experience designing and delivering security awareness, training, or behavioural change programmes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Experience running campaigns, simulations, or engagement initiatives at scale.
  • Ability to translate complex cybersecurity concepts into clear, accessible guidance.
  • Comfortable working with senior leaders as well as frontline colleagues.
  • Comfortable running things independently, not just supporting delivery.
  • Can manage multiple strands of work at the same time.
  • Enjoys both planning and hands-on execution.
  • Can translate security topics into clear, practical learning for different audiences.
  • Is confident working with varied stakeholders.
