Contract role Hybrid/Flexible working. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer required to join our MEICA Water team as we look ahead to tackling some of the UKs most technically challenging projects & AMP8 programmes. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in utilising your technical expertise on a wide range of clean water and wastewater projects both regionally and across the UK. We work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations.
Role accountabilities:
- Ability to self-start and work both independently and as a team member carrying out production, checking, review or approval of mechanical design deliverables.
- Supporting and/or leading design and advisory services relating to new and existing water and wastewater conveyance and treatment assets.
- Ensuring safety of yourself and others through design leadership and actions.
- Technical delivery within a multi-disciplinary team environment, in a mechanical design lead capacity where assigned, using latest digital design processes and resources.
- Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers.
- Co-ordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (e.g., process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and ICA).
- Establish and grow relationships with clients and capital alliance partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters.
- Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives.
- Capturing key project and technical knowledge, including innovations.
- Promote MEICA team capability and achievements both internally and externally.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other directly related degree.
- Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status (or approaching) and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, CIWEM).
- Significant experience and track record in technical delivery of process plant systems on complex engineering projects, preferably related to water and wastewater industry.
- Experience of working on design and construct projects using digital design platforms.
- Team leader with collaborative behaviours.
- Feasibility to detailed design stage delivery experience.
