Role Overview:

As a Project Controls Manager, you will lead the controls function across major infrastructure programmes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clarity across planning, cost, risk, performance, and reporting. You'll work closely with Programme Managers, Project Managers, and client stakeholders to embed robust controls processes and drive successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the project controls function across major infrastructure projects in London and the South East.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy across planning, cost, safety, environmental, and performance reporting.
  • Deploy project controls resources effectively to support programme objectives.
  • Establish and maintain robust control processes in line with industry frameworks (e.g., GRIP).
  • Review project proposals and remits to ensure realistic and achievable resource and delivery plans.
  • Identify resourcing requirements and collaborate with planning teams to resolve constraints.
  • Provide day-to-day reporting support to Programme and Project Managers across plans, costs, safety, and performance.
  • Ensure data quality and compliance across cost, schedule, and performance systems.
  • Manage the production of investment plans and ensure alignment with governance frameworks.
Skills & Experience:
  • Strong background in project controls within infrastructure sectors such as rail, aviation, utilities, highways, power, or defence.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling, including schedule development, analysis, and control.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and maintain high standards of reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Professional certifications (APM, PMI, or similar) are advantageous.
