Opportunity
You’ll play a critical leadership role in strengthening how risk and control are understood, owned and lived day-to-day. Working closely with executive leaders and specialist teams, you’ll help create clarity, confidence and consistency—enabling innovation while protecting what matters most. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, and is ideal for someone who enjoys navigating complexity, shaping culture, and building trusted relationships at senior level.
Activities
- Setting direction for first-line risk and control activity across a large, multi-disciplinary function
- Embedding a proactive, inclusive risk culture aligned to organisational values
- Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, providing clear insight and constructive challenge
- Overseeing operational, technology, data and cyber risk considerations in a regulated environment
- Translating enterprise frameworks into practical, people-centred ways of working
- Leading, coaching and developing senior professionals and business partners
- Supporting assurance, audit and regulatory engagement with confidence and credibility
Skills/Experience
- Significant senior experience in risk, assurance or control roles within complex organisations preferably with large outsourcing suppliers
- Comfortable operating and influencing at executive and board level
- Strong understanding of operational, technology, data and third-party risk
- Experience working within regulated or highly governed environments (Banking or IT)
- A leadership style that is collaborative, inclusive and values-driven
- The confidence to challenge constructively and the empathy to bring others with you
