Our client, a Tier 1 Main Contractor, are expanding their Work Winning team and require both Bid Managers and Bid Writers to support major upcoming opportunities. This is a chance to join a high-performing, centrally based team winning significant UK construction projects.

Role Overview

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality bids across multiple sectors. Depending on your background, you will either lead the bid process (Bid Manager track) or craft compelling written responses (Bid Writer track), all within a collaborative and fast-paced team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bid Manager Focus
  • Lead and manage the full work winning lifecycle, from early engagement to post-tender.
  • Shape win strategies, capture plans, and bid programmes.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
  • Coordinate internal teams and allocate resources to meet deadlines.
  • Manage governance, budgeting, approval processes, and CRM data.
  • Oversee and review qualitative responses and ensure high-quality submissions.
  • Bid Writer Focus
    • Produce clear, persuasive, technically accurate written content for tenders.
    • Work with SMEs and Bid Managers to understand technical solutions.
    • Edit, refine, and enhance narrative responses for maximum impact.
    • Support storyboarding, content planning, template improvements, and evidence gathering.
    • Ensure all written elements are consistent, high-quality, and aligned with submission requirements.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Experienced Bid Manager, Senior Bid Manager, Proposals Manager, or Bid Writer within construction or major projects.
    • Strong understanding of the work winning process in a Tier 1 environment.
    • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality outputs on time.
    • Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • High level of organisation, planning, and written communication.
    • Flexible, collaborative approach, comfortable working across sectors.
    • Degree-level qualification in a Built Environment discipline (preferred for managers).
