As a Human Factors Specialist supporting the TRINITY (Battlefield Communications) Programme, you will assist in delivering User-Centred Design and Integration activities. This could include assessing Commercial-Off-The-Shelf equipment against system requirements/user needs; engaging with users to understand their goals and tasks; conducting detailed analyses to understand cognitive workload and human error; anthropometric assessment and workspace/workstation design; working with other engineering functions and disciplines to support their tasks.
TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Vigilant lead HFI specialist in the conduct of human factors activities and integration of HF into the TRINITY design.
- Work with end user groups and HF stakeholders in workshops, trials and User-Centred Design activities.
- Assess prototypes/mock-ups of TRINITY hardware and software solutions.
- Conduct analyses such as task analysis, human error analysis, usability and workload assessments.
- Support Integration Testing and verification activities.
- Produce reports and input to customer deliverables.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU: PROVEN ABILITY / KNOWLEDGE
- Proven ability as a Human Factors practitioner in defence or a safety-critical industry.
- Proven ability in the application of Def Stan 00-251 whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team on complex system integration and development projects.
ADDITIONAL SECURITY INFORMATION:
We seek a Human Factors Engineer who has worked in a military/defence environment/industry within the last 12 months or who is capable of obtaining security clearance (SC level minimum).
