Urenco Nuclear Stewardship is seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver a portfolio of small to medium-sized decommissioning, demolition, installation and refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £0.5M to £50M. You will manage the full project lifecycle in a regulated nuclear environment, ensuring projects are executed safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects through all lifecycle phases: initiation, design, execution, commissioning, handover, and close-out.
- Lead design and construction activities, ensuring delivery of all project deliverables.
- Oversee project interfaces, risk reviews, HAZCONs, and HAZIDs.
- Manage and coordinate the supply chain to ensure contractual deliverables are achieved safely and on schedule.
- Plan and manage commissioning activities for new plant and equipment.
- Develop and maintain key project documentation, including Project Management Plans, CDM documentation, Construction Phase Plans, and Highlight Reports.
- Ensure compliance with site licence, safety, environmental, and security requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, develop cost estimates and schedules, and manage project funding and change control.
- Oversee tender evaluations, contractor supervision, and documentation reviews.
- Manage readiness and quality reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to Local Authority planning permissions and waste management requirements.
- Produce accurate project reporting, including monthly Highlight Reports to senior management.
- Lead weekly site meetings, maintain detailed project records, and ensure effective supervision of contractors.
- Promote and enforce compliance with HSSE requirements, including RAMS, CDM2015, and SSOW.
- Act as Contractor Representative Level 1 for multiple-discipline contract awards across the UNS portfolio.
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised Project Management qualification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2)
- Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate, SMSTS)
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and RAMS documentation
- Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a regulated environment
- Awareness of site and construction safety legislation, environmental standards, and security protocols
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use specialist software tools for project planning and reporting
