Job Purpose

To ensure the accurate, effective execution of the initiation of the procure to pay (P2P) process (Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO) conversion) in line with any contractual arrangements with suppliers ensuring compliance to Group Procurement Policies and enabling efficient transactional processing. To support ongoing efficiency programmes and continual improvement in PR quality through Requisitioner training and education.

Organisational & Job Context

The role of Procurement Coordinator will predominantly have two key focus areas, the initiation of the Procure to Pay process, specifically the accurate conversion of purchase requisitions to purchase orders for a given Urenco location and query resolution for local site colleagues. This will require communications with the category management team and senior buyers, as well as contact with business partners and requisitioners directly. A detailed working knowledge of Procurement modules in SAP will be an essential skill, as will a working understanding of key supplier contracts within any given category of spend. Accuracy and efficiency of process completion are key attributes of this role. Will be expected to challenge internal customers on procedural issues and supplier selection and contribute to improvements in requisition quality, timescales and process efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Accurate initiation of the Procure to Pay process for a given category of spend ensuring compliance to group policies.
  • Coaching and advice to requisitioners on the P2P process, ongoing training for requisitioners and induction of new starters.
  • First line support to operations on supplier performance management, working in conjunction with senior buyers and category managers to drive improvements.
  • Influencing internal business partners to ensure contracted suppliers are used wherever possible.
  • Active contribution to the ongoing development of functional capabilities to ensure value delivery is sustainable in the long term and functional effectiveness and efficiencies are improved on a continual basis.
  • Will act as first point of contact for transactional queries and provide basic advice on processes.

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Degree (or equivalent)
  • CIPS qualification (or equivalent)
  • SAP P2P module knowledge
  • Experience delivering training/coaching colleagues
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and/or supplier management
