Our client requires a Pumps Specialist who will report to the Senior Manager β Commodity Equipment. The key responsibilities are:
- Technical leader with domain knowledge and experience for the role scope, leading delivery of the design solution and its integration into the wider power station.
- Lead integration with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. supply chain, programme management, commercial, manufacturing, verification).
- Accountable for the quality of their team's outputs, ensuring appropriate governance and assurance is adopted in line with business processes.
- Develop and manage robust cross-functional product development and delivery programmes for the team, including accountability for assigned budget and delivery performance for all activities.
- Accountable for the management of a team, in line with the demands of the Senior Manager. They will lead Engineers and Senior Engineers, dependent on the specific roles demanded.
- The role has a strong strategic element β playing an active part in setting the teams' approaches, looking 1-2 steps ahead to make sure the team is prepared for the future.
- Set objectives and run performance reviews, aligned to the overall department objectives within Components and Mechanical Equipment.
- Define the scope and work with the Senior Engineers to define the activities for the team.
- Apply expertise to act as an Intelligent Customer where necessary, and develop the wider business capability to operate as an Intelligent Customer.
- Act as a key leader within the Components and Mechanical Equipment department and hold people leadership accountability for the team.
- Exemplify leadership behaviours and be an advocate for the department/business.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Demonstrable experience/expertise of analysis, design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of pumps.
- Experience of the product lifecycle of pumps is needed to enable an ability to lead.
- Ideally, the candidate has examples of product development, manufacture, verification and safety cases, demonstrating understanding of the project maturity stages and be able to apply that knowledge and experience to a leadership position.
- The candidate will need to be able to balance product selection against competing requirements from all the different functions and stakeholders.
- The candidate will need to be able to provide technical direction to the team and demonstrate relevant experience of relevant industry standards such as ASME III, API, ISO, etc.
