We are recruiting a Lead Solar PV Installation Supervisor to support the delivery of Solar PV installation projects across the UK. This is a permanent, Monday to Thursday position, suited to an experienced supervisor or senior installer with a strong background in Solar PV and team leadership.

The role involves regular national travel and working away, typically up to four nights per week.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for supervising Solar PV installation works on site, leading installation teams, maintaining high safety and quality standards and acting as the main point of contact between site, clients and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Solar PV installation teams on live sites
  • Lead site safety, quality assurance and compliance
  • Deliver toolbox talks and manage RAMS and CPP requirements
  • Liaise with clients and internal Operations teams
  • Monitor progress and report on delivery, variations and site issues
  • Carry out QA inspections, snagging and final sign off
  • Support electricians with AC and DC coordination
  • Ensure all commissioning documentation, photos and evidence are completed and uploaded

Working Pattern and Travel

  • Permanent position, Monday to Thursday
  • National role with regular working away, typically up to four nights per week
  • £30.00 per night working away allowance
  • Accommodation fully paid for, usually Airbnb
  • Fuel card provided
  • A van will be provided and you will be responsible for collecting up to three installers and travelling to site

Experience and Skills Required

  • Extensive experience installing Solar PV systems
  • Proven ability to work independently and supervise teams
  • Strong understanding of Solar PV installation standards
  • Confident working at height
  • Strong safety record and consistent installation quality

Technical Competencies

  • Panel layout and string design interpretation
  • Ability to read drawings, roof plans and cable routing diagrams
  • Experience with flat roof, pitched roof and trapezoidal steel mounting systems
  • Fault finding including dead strings and DC underperformance
  • MC4 crimping and DC cable termination
  • DC string testing using multimeters
  • Understanding of fire safety requirements for Solar PV

Mandatory Requirements

  • Valid CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Working at Heights certification
  • IPAF
  • Harness training
  • Manual Handling
  • Asbestos Awareness

IT and Reporting

  • Completion of daily and weekly site reports
  • Digital upload of photos, forms and as built documentation
  • Confident use of laptops, cloud based systems and Microsoft Office
