An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Design Engineer to join a leading utility and infrastructure services organisation supporting a major water industry framework. This role will focus on developing and delivering high-quality design solutions for clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Working closely with project managers, operational teams, clients, and external stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring designs are technically robust, compliant with industry regulations, and delivered in line with project requirements.

This position would suit an individual with experience in utility, civil, or water engineering design who is looking to contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced project environment.

  • Review project scopes, modelling information, and supporting documentation.
  • Produce and maintain Health & Safety files throughout all project stages, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 requirements.
  • Manage technical queries and design submissions through project management systems.
  • Maintain drawing registers and associated project documentation.
  • Coordinate pre-design meetings and design sign-off meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams, client representatives, and external consultants to deliver project objectives.
  • Produce private land drawings, including land referencing and statutory notice plans.
  • Develop overview drawings using site investigation data.
  • Produce detailed design and as-laid drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with industry and client standards.
  • Identify and communicate significant design risks, hazards, or scope changes to project teams.
  • Facilitate internal design review meetings with project and operational stakeholders.
  • Produce weekly design reports and present project updates to management.

Previous experience working within the water, wastewater, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.

Strong understanding of engineering specifications and standards relevant to water infrastructure projects.

Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and associated design responsibilities.

Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Experience producing clean water and wastewater network designs.
