An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join a market-leading engineering and services business during a significant period of growth and transformation. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership, commercial insight, and robust governance across the business. This role will play a critical part in shaping and delivering the company's long-term growth plans while ensuring strong financial control and performance.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:
- Strategic Leadership
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and deliver the medium and long-term growth strategy
- Identify key financial risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate action plans are in place
- Support business development initiatives, transformation projects, and operational improvements
- Provide financial insight and challenge to support strategic decision making
- Financial Performance & Control
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and KPI reporting to support business performance
- Ensure strong financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks are maintained
- Manage internal and external audit requirements
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team, building capability and succession plans
- Work closely with executive leadership and wider group stakeholders
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial awareness
- Drive collaboration and best practice across finance and operational teams
To be successful in this role you will need to be:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within a commercial or operational environment
- Strong background in financial planning, reporting, controls, and business partnering
- Demonstrable experience supporting growth, transformation, and change initiatives
- Commercially astute with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
