An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join a market-leading engineering and services business during a significant period of growth and transformation.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership, commercial insight, and robust governance across the business. This role will play a critical part in shaping and delivering the company's long-term growth plans while ensuring strong financial control and performance.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance:
  • Strategic Leadership
    • Partner with senior leadership to develop and deliver the medium and long-term growth strategy
    • Identify key financial risks and opportunities, ensuring appropriate action plans are in place
    • Support business development initiatives, transformation projects, and operational improvements
    • Provide financial insight and challenge to support strategic decision making
  • Financial Performance & Control
    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities
    • Oversee the production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
    • Deliver meaningful financial analysis and KPI reporting to support business performance
    • Ensure strong financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks are maintained
    • Manage internal and external audit requirements
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management
    • Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team, building capability and succession plans
    • Work closely with executive leadership and wider group stakeholders
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and commercial awareness
    • Drive collaboration and best practice across finance and operational teams

To be successful in this role you will need to be:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience within a commercial or operational environment
  • Strong background in financial planning, reporting, controls, and business partnering
  • Demonstrable experience supporting growth, transformation, and change initiatives
  • Commercially astute with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
