An opportunity has arisen for a Temporary Chemistry Technician to join an established HSSE team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role will primarily support a major power generation site, with additional support provided to a second generating facility as required. This position plays a critical role in delivering an effective and efficient chemistry service to the business, ensuring full compliance with statutory and internal requirements. The successful candidate will support the safe, reliable and efficient long-term operation of plant through condition monitoring, laboratory analysis, water treatment management and chemical control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day and long-term management of boiler and cooling water chemistry, including system monitoring, sampling, laboratory analysis, record management, interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and providing recommendations to operations teams.
  • Management of water treatment plants (RO, EDI, ion exchange and associated systems), ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation.
  • Management of chemical inventory, including ordering, storage, usage control and disposal.
  • Administration and advisory support for COSHH requirements across site.
  • Carrying out duties under Safety Rules, including Selected Person (Atmosphere), confined space atmosphere monitoring, and issuing reports.
