Morson are recruiting for an Estates Maintenance Assistant to support our NHS client within their Estates & Facilities team. This role is ideal for someone with a basic mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or building maintenance background looking to develop within a structured and stable environment, working across a variety of building services.
You will support the day-to-day delivery of maintenance services across NHS sites, carrying out basic repairs, maintenance tasks, and inspections on a wide range of equipment. Key duties include:
- Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs on:
- Heating and hot/cold water systems
- Wastewater and drainage systems
- Lighting and basic electrical equipment
- Air conditioning systems
- Fire safety and firefighting equipment
- Domestic appliances and catering equipment
- Assisting with fault finding and reporting issues to senior engineers
- Completing plant room checks and general inspections
- Undertaking portable appliance testing (PAT) and minor repairs
- Recording work carried out using CAFM systems and logbooks
- Supporting skilled trades on larger tasks and maintenance works
- Keeping plant rooms and working areas clean and safe
Candidate Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience) in a relevant trade or maintenance discipline
- Experience carrying out basic maintenance or repair work
- Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems
- Competent using hand and power tools
- Good time management and ability to work independently
- Basic IT skills for recording work
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in facilities, estates, or building maintenance
- Basic carpentry or multi-trade skills

- Experience using maintenance systems or CAFM
