Morson Edge are working with a leading global engineering and design consultancy to recruit experienced Building Surveyors to support the delivery of a major national stock condition surveying programme across the South of England. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale housing programme delivering approximately 3,800 stock condition and HHSRS surveys as part of a nationwide commission. The initial programme is expected to run through to September 2026, with strong potential for further contract opportunities on future programmes.
The Opportunity
Working as part of a national surveying team, you will undertake stock condition and Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) surveys across social housing portfolios, collecting accurate condition data using digital survey tools. You will play an important role in supporting housing providers with asset management, compliance and property condition assessments, while ensuring high-risk issues are identified and reported in accordance with current legislation, including Awaab's Law.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake stock condition surveys across residential housing portfolios.
- Carry out Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments.
- Capture accurate survey information using iPads and digital survey software.
- Complete survey completion reports and update programme teams on survey status.
- Upload survey data in accordance with project procedures.
- Follow established standard operating procedures for site access, survey completion and data management.
- Identify and report high-risk health and safety issues, including damp and mould concerns, in line with Awaab's Law requirements.
- Liaise with programme coordinators to ensure surveys are completed efficiently and to programme.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent technical experience.
- Proven experience undertaking stock condition surveys within social housing.
- Experience carrying out HHSRS assessments.
- Good understanding of Awaab's Law and its implications for housing providers.
- Confident using iPads and digital data capture systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Southern UK, including occasional overnight stays where required.
